Dr. J J Patwa Super Ilizarov Polio Specialist in Ahmedabad, Orthoplastic Reconstruction in Ahmedabad. Prof. Dr. J.J. Patwa has a vast experience of 35 years in the field of orthopaedic. Apart from trauma & spine he has special interest in ilizarov for complex deformity correction and infected & gap non-union of long bones. He has credit of performing around 1500 ilizarov surgeries. He has been faculty speaker in various national as well as international ilizarov conferences. He has published a book entitled "MASTER CASES OF ILIZAROV" which demonstrates principles, basic technique of ilizarov as well as tips & illustrative cases to tackle complex deformities and difficult non-union. He has been faculty in many educational institutes and Consultant orthopaedic surgeon in many other hospitals. Apart from being a teacher and surgeon he also possesses leadership qualities. He has served as president of Gujarat Orthopaedic Association in 1998 and Ahmedabad Orthopaedic Society in 1997, and has also been joint organising secretary of IOA conference 2002. He is also a routine reviewer in Indian Journal of Orthopaedics.

His another area of interest is deformity in post polio residual paralysis. He has operated around 5000 cases of polio totally free of cost and has received the prestigious PRESIDENT Award for his distinguished service for the society on world disabled day 2003 with the auspicious hand of our past president Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. He has brilliant academic record. Teaching comes naturally to him and is tremendously popular among the students for his style of teaching.He is truly a multifaceted personality in orthopaedics. He is a good academician, a good teacher and skilful organisers and has very actively involved himself in the social activites.

For the last 35 years, he has been conducting workshops comprising of live operative sessions and hands on practice to train postgraduates all over the country. He has evolved several new concepts in Ilizarov surgery, TAO, HTO, non union of any fracture, polio, CPT, deformity correction, flexible nail, interlocking nails, spinal stabilisation. He takes lectures for corporate sector and common people regarding management of knee pain and backache.He travels extensively giving lectures, holding workshops, delivering orations and participating in conferences.
